2.1. Review 1 : “Discovering a New Retreat in Seoul: Novotel Ambassador Seoul Yongsan!”

Summary of the Blog Post

Recently, my spouse and I enjoyed a staycation at Novotel Ambassador Seoul Yongsan. We usually prefer Marriott and Hyatt, but after exploring options, we decided to try a new hotel chain: Accor. Our stay was from August 16 to 17, 2024.

Novotel Ambassador Seoul Yongsan is located within the Seoul Dragon City complex, connected to Yongsan Station and I-Park Mall, which made it a convenient urban retreat. Check-in started at 3 PM, and check-out was at 12 PM. Upon arrival, the lobby was bustling, and we were disappointed not to receive a room upgrade despite having Platinum tier status. However, we did enjoy lounge access and early check-in.

We stayed in room 2454, which offered a nice view of the Han River. The room was spacious and clean, equipped with a safe, iron, coffee machine, and a refrigerator with complimentary water. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bedding was excellent. USB ports and reading lights by the bed added to the convenience, and the TV had Chromecast capabilities for streaming.

The bathroom featured a separate shower and toilet, with a bathtub that felt a bit dated but was functional. The amenities were by ByOtherside, which had a strong scent that I found overwhelming, so I opted to use my own shampoo.

The highlight of our stay was the Premier Lounge, which offered a great view of the surrounding area. During the evening cocktail hour, the atmosphere was relaxed, with a variety of food and drink options. The salmon, pasta, and desserts were delicious, although some dishes were sweeter than expected.

We ordered delivery as well, benefiting from the diverse food options available nearby. The convenience of a pickup zone in the lobby made this easy.

Breakfast at the Food Exchange was particularly memorable. Although the wait was long, the variety of food made it worthwhile. I enjoyed the pho station and the numerous Korean side dishes, which felt like a home-cooked meal.

Overall, Novotel Ambassador Seoul Yongsan is a wonderful choice for anyone looking for a comfortable retreat in the city. With plenty of activities available around the hotel, including easy access to shopping and dining options at I-Park Mall, it’s a great place to unwind. For a short getaway, this hotel offers a refreshing escape from daily life and is definitely worth considering!

2.2. Review 2 : “A Great Choice for a Seoul Staycation: Novotel Ambassador Seoul Yongsan!”

Summary of the Blog Post

I recently celebrated my birthday with a staycation at Novotel Ambassador Seoul Yongsan, and I’m finally writing this review. Among the many 5-star hotels in Seoul, I chose this one for its reasonable price and nearby dining options. Let’s see if it lived up to my expectations!

Novotel Ambassador is connected to Ibis Styles and is easily accessible from Yongsan Station via a footbridge. Check-in starts at 3 PM, and the process was smooth. After confirming my name and credit card, I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the 18th floor.

The lobby offered complimentary orange and apple juice, adding a nice touch to the experience. Although there were many people checking in, the staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was also convenient, with spacious areas available.

We stayed in a Superior Double Room, which was clean and comfortable. The bed was plush, and the wooden floor added to the overall cleanliness. The bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, and while basic toiletries were provided, you need to buy a toothbrush and toothpaste at the convenience store if needed. The water pressure was great, and shampoo and conditioner were available.

The room was equipped with a chair and desk for working, as well as wine glasses and a coffee pot. There were two complimentary bottles of water in the fridge, but no minibar, which was a bit disappointing. The view of Namsan from our room was beautiful, especially in the evening.

Connecting to the hotel Wi-Fi was tricky at first, but with a little persistence, I figured it out. The Wi-Fi ID is “Seoul Dragon City,” and you need to enter your last name and room number. The hotel also provided computers and a printer on the first floor for guest use.

The hotel has a pool that can be accessed once per day during your stay. Unfortunately, I found the pool to be a bit underwhelming and left after 20 minutes, feeling it did not meet the expectations of a 5-star hotel.

Overall, Novotel Ambassador Seoul Yongsan offers excellent service and cleanliness, but the pool and some facilities could use improvement. I look forward to sharing more about the breakfast experience in my next post. If you’re planning a staycation, this hotel could be a good choice for those looking for a reasonably priced option in Seoul!

  • Location: Directly accessible from Yongsan Station via a footbridge
  • Check-in/Check-out: Check-in at 3 PM, check-out at 12 PM
  • Stay Duration: Birthday staycation
  • Room Details: Superior Double Room, 18th floor, clean and comfortable with a plush bed
  • Amenities: Separate shower and toilet, basic toiletries provided, need to purchase toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Wi-Fi: Initial connection issues, but resolvable with guidance
  • Pool: Access once per day, but underwhelming experience
  • Overall Impression: Excellent service and cleanliness, but some facilities, particularly the pool, could be improved. Good choice for a budget-friendly staycation in Seoul.

2.3. Review 3 : “A Perfect Choice for a Seoul Staycation: Novotel Ambassador Seoul Yongsan!”

Summary of the Blog Post

Recently, I celebrated my birthday with a staycation at Novotel Ambassador Seoul Yongsan. In my previous post, I shared about the Junior Suite, and this time, I’ll introduce the hotel’s facilities, including the pool, fitness center, and sauna.

The pool and fitness club are located on the 4th floor, open daily from 6 AM to 10 PM. The pool operates in 10 slots, allowing guests to swim for 1 hour and 20 minutes once per day. Guests must wear either a swimming cap or a swim hat while using the pool. It’s recommended to come down in your swimsuit and robe from your room for convenience.

The pool itself is not very large, but it was lively with guests swimming. Unfortunately, I don’t swim well, so I just enjoyed watching. There’s also a spa area with warm water, perfect for relaxation. However, the number of shower stalls is limited, so it might get crowded during peak seasons.

Moving on to the sauna, there’s a separate entry fee of 44,000 won, but I was lucky enough to use it at a 50% discount of 22,000 won during my visit. If you stay in a Novotel Suite or Deluxe Room, sauna access is complimentary. The sauna has spacious changing rooms with all necessary amenities, including lotions, hair sprays, and hair dryers. It features both a 20-degree and a 40-degree bath, along with a scrubbing room for those interested in a scrub.

Finally, the fitness center was surprisingly spacious and well-equipped with various strength training equipment, making it a great option for fitness enthusiasts. There are also cardio machines with beautiful views, making workouts more enjoyable.

Breakfast is a highlight not to be missed. Located on the 2nd floor, the breakfast restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes, including Korean and American options, salads, and a pho station. I enjoyed both the salads and traditional Korean dishes, and I treated myself to fruit and desserts afterward.

Overall, Novotel Ambassador Seoul Yongsan provides excellent value for a 5-star hotel with great accessibility, facilities, and breakfast. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a quality staycation in Seoul. Stay tuned for my next post, where I’ll share more about the room details!
