2.1. Review 1 : “Comfortable Stay with Disappointing Breakfast”

Summary of the Blog Post

During a recent business trip to Seoul, I stayed at the Koreana Hotel located in Gwanghwamun. This hotel, while older, has been renovated to maintain a luxurious atmosphere and received positive reviews for its room conditions relative to the price. I checked in during the afternoon and received two room keys, allowing me to keep the air conditioning running for a comfortable environment. The hotel has guest rooms on floors 10 to 22, and I was assigned to a Premium King room on the 18th floor.

Upon entering the room, I was impressed by the spaciousness and the king-size bed. The bed was significantly larger than a standard double bed, comfortably accommodating two adults and a child. The bathroom featured a bathtub and was well-stocked with towels and toiletries. The water pressure was decent, and hot water was readily available, but the similar scents of the shampoo and body wash were somewhat disappointing.

Room service offered breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, and for dinner, I enjoyed a delicious meal at a nearby pork belly restaurant with my team. However, the breakfast buffet the next morning did not meet my expectations. The breakfast cost 27,000 won for adults, with a discount for advance purchase. Upon arriving at the breakfast area, I noticed a high number of foreign tourists, and while there was a variety of dishes available, the pho was poorly prepared and took too long to cook.

The breakfast menu included bread, cereals, pho, pancakes, and various side dishes, but the pho was not cooked properly, which was disappointing. Ultimately, I had to rely on other options to complete my breakfast. Additionally, I had a concerning experience with the bathtub, as the anti-slip mat did not function well, requiring caution during use.

Overall, while the Koreana Hotel provided a comfortable stay, I felt that the quality of the breakfast needs improvement. If I visit again, I will have to reconsider my breakfast choices.

  • Location: Gwanghwamun, Koreana Hotel

2.2. Review 2 : “A Special Stay Experience During the Bell-Ringing Ceremony”

Summary of the Blog Post

On December 31, 2023, I stayed at Koreana Hotel to welcome the New Year. I chose this hotel for its convenient proximity to the bell-ringing ceremony at Gwanghwamun and Jonggak, making it easy to access the event. Although the hotel opened in 1972, it has been renovated to maintain a luxurious atmosphere and is known for its great value. I made my reservation through the Agoda app, selecting options for breakfast and parking.

The bathroom was clean and well-stocked with amenities, and the room featured a Nespresso coffee machine and complimentary bottled water. The TV was connected to Netflix and YouTube, making it great for a cozy staycation.

From my room, I could see the preparations for the bell-ringing ceremony, and on the day of the event, the area was bustling with crowds. I celebrated the New Year by ordering chicken and rice balls to enjoy in the warmth of the hotel. The next morning, the breakfast offered a variety of dishes, including delicious rice cake soup and freshly prepared pho. I could also order an omelet, providing a nice variety for breakfast. The quality of the breakfast was good, and I was able to eat my fill.

Check-out was at 11 AM, and I was pleased with the friendly service from the staff. Koreana Hotel not only offers great access to the bell-ringing ceremony but is also conveniently located near Gwanghwamun Station and various tourist attractions. This trip was truly memorable, and I would love to return to this affordable hotel in the future.

2.3. Review 3 : “A Perfect Staycation in the Heart of Seoul”

Summary of the Blog Post

Recently, I enjoyed a staycation at Koreana Hotel, a lovely gift from my husband. After struggling through the COVID-19 pandemic, this was a much-needed healing time for me. The hotel is located in Jung-gu, Sejong-daero, just 179 meters from Gwanghwamun Station Exit 6, making it very accessible.

Check-in was available at 3 PM, with check-out at noon the next day. I checked in at 6 PM to match my husband’s schedule. Koreana Hotel has a long history, and the friendly staff made a great impression. I felt welcomed as I checked in and headed to my room.

On the 4th floor, there is a fitness center called Fitness BM, where guests can use the facilities once a day for free. The gym includes a sauna and pilates equipment, making it a fantastic place for a workout. Since we wanted to include exercise in our staycation, we unpacked our bags and headed straight to the fitness center.

Although Koreana Hotel was built in 1972, it has been recently remodeled, and the room conditions were excellent. The room was clean, and the cleaning was impeccable. I felt at ease knowing that the hotel was well-sanitized. As soon as I entered the room, I was delighted by the comfortable environment.

The area around the hotel is filled with various dining and sightseeing options, making it perfect for a stroll. I especially enjoyed walking along Cheonggyecheon River, which is right in front of the hotel. The price was also reasonable, offering great value for money.

My staycation at Koreana Hotel was a truly comfortable and happy experience. If you’re looking for a perfect getaway in the heart of Seoul, I highly recommend Koreana Hotel. I would love to visit again!
