2.1. Review 1 : “A Perfect Family Staycation at Aloft Seoul Myeongdong!”

Summary of the Blog Post

Recently, I enjoyed a staycation in Seoul with my family, and I’m excited to share my experience at Aloft Seoul Myeongdong, which is an excellent choice for families with kids. This hotel is part of the Marriott Bonvoy group, and although we reserved through the membership, I haven’t experienced any specific benefits yet. Let’s dive into the review!

Aloft Seoul Myeongdong is located directly across from Shinsegae Department Store, making it convenient for shopping and sightseeing. Check-in is available from 4 PM, and when we arrived, it was a bit busy, but the staff was efficient, and we quickly completed the check-in process. We were assigned to the 19th floor, which provided a nice view.

The room we stayed in featured a spacious bathroom and a layout that resembled an L-shape, separating the living area from the bedroom. Personally, I prefer having a separate living space, but this room was also very comfortable. Upon entering, we were welcomed by a large, clean bed, and since we had two kids, we brought a portable bed, which fit nicely. We also requested an Indian tent at check-in, and our eldest child slept in it.

The bathroom was spacious, perfect for bathing the kids, and the tub was large enough for some fun water play. There were plenty of towels available for our use. The view from our room was nice, especially with lots of cars for the kids to watch.

While we didn’t have breakfast, the hotel is surrounded by various dining options and shopping areas, making it convenient. Aloft Seoul Myeongdong is situated in a great location for sightseeing, with easy access to public transportation.

What impressed me most was the friendliness of the hotel staff. The joy and comfort we felt during our family trip left us with wonderful memories. Although there is no pool, this hotel is a fantastic choice for families. I look forward to visiting again, especially when the weather cools down for a trip to the palaces and further family sightseeing!

  • Location: Opposite Shinsegae Department Store, great for sightseeing and shopping

2.2. Review 2 : “A Convenient and Comfortable Stay at Aloft Seoul Myeongdong!”

Summary of the Blog Post

Recently, I enjoyed a weekday trip to Myeongdong and stayed at Aloft Seoul Myeongdong. As part of the Marriott chain, I booked a basic room for about 230,000 won, including breakfast for two. I found my stay quite satisfying, so here’s a detailed review!

Aloft Seoul Myeongdong is conveniently located opposite Shinsegae Department Store, making it ideal for shopping and sightseeing. Check-in starts at 3 PM, and since it was a weekday, it was relatively quiet. The check-in desk was small, and there were only two elevators, but the staff handled the process quickly.

We were assigned to room 811, which was a high floor with a nice view of the Korean Air headquarters and Lotte Department Store. Although it wasn’t the famous view of the Shinsegae sign, the open view was still delightful.

The room was clean and cozy, perfect for two. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom featured a shower booth. Amenities included toothbrushes, hair caps, cotton swabs, body lotion, and shampoo/conditioner in dispensers. Two bottles of water, slippers, a gown, and an iron were also provided.

After checking in, we walked to Lotte Department Store, which was about a 7-minute walk away. I had fun shopping and even bought two bottles of sweet wine! On the second floor of the hotel, there is an Aloft lounge and a business center, and on the third floor, there’s a fitness center. Although the gym was small, it had large windows that made it feel spacious, and it was open 24 hours, which was convenient.

Breakfast was served at Nook on the basement level from 7 AM to 10 AM. There were many foreign guests during breakfast, and I found the food to be delicious without being overly rich. The beef seaweed soup was particularly memorable, and there were many other options available.

Check-out was easy with the express check-out system. Overall, Aloft Seoul Myeongdong is a great hotel, especially for foreign tourists, due to its location and comfortable accommodations. While it lacks a pool and lounge, the good value and central location make it a place I would love to visit again!

  • Location: Opposite Shinsegae Department Store, in the heart of Myeongdong
  • Check-in/Check-out: Check-in at 3 PM, check-out at 12 PM
  • Cost: Approximately 230,000 won for a room with breakfast for two
  • Room Details: Room 811, high floor, view of Korean Air headquarters and Lotte Department Store
  • Amenities: Bathroom with shower booth, various amenities provided, two bottles of water, slippers, gown, and an iron
  • Breakfast: Served at Nook, delicious and not overly rich, with a variety of options available
  • Overall Impression: Conveniently located in Myeongdong, appealing to foreign tourists, good value for the price, though lacking a pool and lounge.

2.3. Review 3 : “A Comfortable Stay at Aloft Seoul Myeongdong!”

Summary of the Blog Post

Recently, I spent a 1-night, 2-day stay at Aloft Seoul Myeongdong. This hotel is conveniently located near Myeongdong and Euljiro 1-ga stations, making it great for shopping and sightseeing. I enjoyed my stay in a basic room, the Aloft Room, along with breakfast. Here’s my detailed review!

Aloft Seoul Myeongdong is easily accessible from both Line 4 (Myeongdong) and Line 2 (Euljiro 1-ga). While parking is available, the number of spots is limited (about 30), so I recommend using public transportation. Check-in starts at 3 PM, and when we arrived, it was relatively quiet. The lobby is small but has comfortable seating for waiting guests.

We were assigned to room 811, which was on a high floor. Although we hoped for a nice view, we ended up with a building view and construction site. The Aloft Room is about 6.4 pyeong in size, featuring two single beds. The Simmons beds were incredibly comfortable, and there were USB ports and outlets between the beds for convenience. The room’s decor was cozy and stylish.

The bathroom featured a shower booth, and the basic amenities were satisfactory. Body wash and shampoo were provided in dispenser form, making it easy to use. The room also included a kettle, tea, coffee, and three bottles of water, which added to the comfort.

Breakfast was served at Nook on the basement level, and the variety was impressive. I particularly enjoyed the arancini and beef flank steak, along with a selection of salads and desserts. The breakfast fee is reasonable at 31,000 won for adults and 21,000 won for children.

The fitness center is located on the third floor, equipped with basic exercise equipment. Although it’s not very large, it’s open 24 hours, making it convenient for early morning workouts. I managed to squeeze in some cardio before breakfast.

Check-out was easy with the express check-out system. Overall, Aloft Seoul Myeongdong offers a great location, comfortable beds, and various amenities, making it a highly satisfying stay. It’s definitely a hotel I would like to visit again!
